Sakurai Sho shares some advice with 150 college students a.k.a Sho Sakurai talks about his love for Arashi in front of students

1st Version

On September 27th, Arashi’s Sakurai Sho held a screening party with 150 students for his movie, “Kamisama no Karute“. The beloved star gave the group some helpful advice as they prepare to venture out into the world.
He said, “When you go out into the world, there will be times when everyone expects you to be independent.”
“In my case, it’s special. There are four others sharing the same destiny, so we support and help each other out. Thanks to them, I only feel one-fifth of the pain,” he laughed.
Reflecting on his student days, Sakurai mused, “Before exams, my friends and I used to study at a family restaurant. But we spent most of our time talking. When I think about it now, those times were valuable.” Sakurai proudly revealed that he managed to balance his studies while in the entertainment business, “Certainly, it was difficult, but it’s because of my confidence that I could overcome those times; I am able to strain myself a little.”
When job-hunting students asked, “When going out into the world, did you feel any anxiety?“. Sakurai answered, “I’ve been with the agency since I was 13, but I had a vague uneasiness as I concluded my student life. It was as if I had taken off my training wheels, and wondered what would happen from there on out.”
He then confessed, “Eventually, I wanted to be a newscaster, so back then, I thought about how I could reach that goal.”
Sakurai then showcased his mature mentality by expressing, “Right now, I don’t think about my remote future. I won’t be able to see the future until I clear up my current work, problems, and tasks one-by-one.”
Concluding his Q&A session with the students, Sakurai delivered a final message of encouragement. “It was  fun, but I don’t know if I was able to answer everyone’s questions… Times have become more difficult since I was a student, but please do your best.”

2nd Version
Arashi’s Sho Sakurai talked about his career struggles and how Arashimembers helped him to overcome his challenges at a special university student viewing of his latest film in Tokyo on September 27, reports Chunichi Sports and Daily Sports Online.

More than a hundred university students were invited to a special viewing of “神様のカルテ (Kamisama no Karute)” yesterday, which also involved an hour talk session with Sakurai, who listened to students talking
about their worries about finding a job and what to do after graduation.
“When I was 20, 22-years-old, I was worried about things too.  But what’s important is to keep going, even if the results aren’t what you wanted them to be, just live your life to its best,” he said.
It has been reported one student asked Sakurai what he found to be a big challenge in the real world.
“I think there’ll be more times people expect you to be able to do things yourself, but maybe that’s where I’m a little different…  In Arashi, I have four other guys in the same boat as me.  We support and help one another out, so I only feel one-fifth of the pain.  I think you’ll find how important it is to have friends who you can trust,”
Sakurai said.
Sakurai also talked about how he struggled with university life.
“I remember during university, especially before exams, I would fall asleep while washing my hair, I’d even fall asleep while sitting on the toilet.  But I learnt a lot from overcoming those challenges while I had
the strength,” he said.
Finally, the Johnny’s talent gave some advise to the students at yesterday’s event.
“Don’t take anything for granted.  Going to new places, even if it looks tiring, is enough to fill you with hope and excitement.  You can work harder if you know there are people around you who are supporting you too,” he said.
It has been reported to date, more than 1.4 million people have seen ”神様のカルテ (Kamisama no Karute)”.

“Special classes” with Arashi at the Tokyo Dome!

Popular group Arashi held a charity event, “Arashi no Wakuwaku Gakkou“, for disaster relief at the Tokyo Dome!

As tokyohive reported previously, each Arashi member became a “teacher” by turns and gave the “students” lectures, making the Tokyo Dome like a big classroom.

—

The event was held for three days from June 24th to 26th, when it was originally scheduled for Arashi’s live concerts, however, considering its electricity consumption, they changed the plan to a charity event.  Usually their concerts use 2000 kilowatts, but for the event, they reduced it to 830 kilowatts.

The lectures by the members were based on things that are important to consider for Japan now. Ninomiya Kazunari’s lecture was about human body structure and taught the “students” the meaning of living. Matsumoto Jun gave a lecture about electricity and energy. For this lecture, all members tried the generation of electricity using bicycles.  They showed the power that the members saved while getting all sweaty only lasted for 8 seconds when used by a hair dryer. Matsumoto commented, “I hope it made everybody realize how important the electricity was.”

On the other hand, Aiba Masaki showed his cooking skills on the stage, and taught how foods are delivered to the consumers.  He pointed out  the large amount of food leftovers in Japan and said, “The way of solving the food shortage is to not waste foods.“  Sakurai Sho’s lecture was titled as “Pachi Pachi no Jugyou”, which taught the importance of praising somebody, and Ohno Satoshi gave a lecture about how miraculous his encounters with people were.  Ohno stated, “Words are the biggest device to create a link between people.  Everybody, please tell ‘Arigatou’ a lot to your precious people.”

—

At the beginning of the event, the fans were just screaming at Arashi, however, they gradually started to devour the lectures, and there were fans who were taking notes on the lectures.

With this big success, Arashi members said that they would like to hold this kind of event again.

The event pulled a total of 225,000 people in three days, and they will donate 200 million yen (approximately 2,486,943 USD) through Marching J.

Japan Earthquake : 7.4 quake strikes, tsunami alert issued

Japan has been rattled by a strong aftershock and tsunami warning nearly a month after a devastating earthquake and tsunami flattened the north-eastern coast.

The Japan meteorological agency issued a tsunami warning for a wave of up to one metre. The warning was issued for a coastal area already torn apart by last month's tsunami.

Officials say the new quake was a 7.4-magnitude and hit 25 miles under the water and off the coast of Miyagi prefecture. The quake that preceded last month's tsunami was a 9.0-magnitude.

Buildings as far away as Tokyo shook for about a minute.
The US Geological Survey gave the preliminary magnitude as 7.4 and it struck off the eastern coast 60 miles from Sendai and 90 miles from the stricken Fukushima nuclear plant. It was about 215 miles from Tokyo.

The depth was 25 miles. Shallower quakes tend to be more destructive.

Hundreds of aftershocks have shaken the north east region devastated by the March 11 earthquake, but few have been stronger than 7.0.

Which songs have earthquake victims requested the most on FM Sendai?

It’s been 12 days since the occurrence of the Great Tohoku Kanto Earthquake and as the days goes by, the song requests have sharply increased on FM Sendai. 40 % of the requests are for songs from Johnny & Associates‘ artists, and the most wanted artist is Arashi. According to FM Sendai, Arashi’s “Kitto Daijoubu” and “Believe” receive the most amount of the requests.

When the earthquake occurred, FM Sendai only aired information about the disaster without any music, however, beginning this week, their music segments began to occupy 50 % of their broadcasts. The director of FM Sendai stated, “We received mainly requests for ballad songs at first, but the victims’ needs started to change healing songs to positive songs. Arashi is the favorite for elementary kids to people in their 50s.”

Johnny & Associates cancel concerts + provide free trucks for disaster relief

On March 15th, entertainment agency Johnny & Associates announced that all planned domestic concerts by their artists in March have been canceled. Instead, the transport and power unit trucks normally used for these live performances will be lent to disaster-stricken areas in Japan, free of charge.

In total, 18 performances by 6 artists have been canceled (including TOKIO, Tackey & Tsubasa, Hey!Say! JUMP, and Yamashita Tomohisa).

At every concert, Johnny’s uses several 10-ton transport trucks and a few electric power unit trucks. The agency has a contract in place with truck companies for these, but since the concerts have been canceled, they announced, “If it can help with the disaster relief in stricken areas, we are prepared to lend them out for emergency transport and supplementing electricity … [For example,] transporting material aid, and providing electricity to hospitals…”

Food transport and power shortage are big problems at the affected areas, and Johnny’s says they will consider requests by local authority groups involved in the relief effort for the trucks.

Japan faces "apocalyptic" Disaster as Radiation Spills from Stricken Nuclear Plant

JAPAN was last night on the brink of an “apocalyptic” disaster as radiation spewed out from the stricken Fukushima nuclear plant, experts warned.

A deadly atomic cloud is poised to spread death and misery across the country and engineers are locked in a desperate battle to prevent a meltdown of fuel rods at the quake-hit reactors.

Millions of Tokyo residents were living in fear that, with a wind change, the radiation could descend on the city.

As the danger rating at the plant was upgraded from five to six out of seven, Europe’s energy Commissioner Guenther Oettinger said: “There is talk of an apocalypse and I think the word is particularly well chosen.

“Practically everything is out of control. I cannot exclude the worst in the hours and days to come.”

Japan’s Prime Minister Naoto Kan admitted perilous levels of radiation were leaking from the power station.

At one point it soared to 400 times the annual legal limit.

Mr Kan said on TV: “Radiation has spread from the reactors and the reading seems high. There is a very high risk of further radioactive material coming out.

“We would like to ask you to remain indoors, at home or in your offices and avoid going outside.”

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano added: “Now we are talking about levels that can damage human health. There is no mistake about that.”

He also said a fourth reactor was on fire at the plant that has been hit by three blasts in four days. One reactor was no longer sealed, sparking fears of further leaks. Two workers were reported missing.

US experts fear the danger level will be upgraded to seven. That has only been used once before, at Chernobyl in 1986.

Nuclear expert John Harris said: “It seems to be getting more serious as days go by.

“The fact we have now had three hydrogen explosions tells me almost certainly that the reactor cores must be quite badly damaged.

“It could have distorted to the point of meltdown, where some of the core drips into the bottom of the reactor. That is serious.” Russia’s nuclear chief said all six reactors could melt unless the rods are cooled soon. Japanese authorities were last night planning to spray water from helicopters into an overheating nuclear fuel storage pool.

In Tokyo, parts of the city were eerily quiet as fear gripped residents.

The few people who did venture out admitted the nuclear threat terrified them more than after-shocks. But there was no sense of panic and the expected mass exodus of Tokyo failed to materialise.

Radiation levels reached 20 times the usual level. There was some relief when winds expected to blow any radioactive cloud towards the capital did not materialise. But UN weather experts said they were keeping a close eye on changing patterns. More than 140,000 people living within 19 miles of Fukushima were warned to stay indoors. A no-fly zone was in place for a 20-mile radius over the plant. Bosses have evacuated 750 staff – leaving just 70 brave workers to tackle the crisis.

The International Atomic Energy Agency insisted radiation levels were falling. But local media claimed they rose too high for Tokyo Electric Power Company staff to stay in control rooms. The workers, all wearing protective gear, were rotated in and out of the danger zone quickly to reduce exposure. Japan’s Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency said the third explosion may have damaged the reactor’s suppression chamber.

Residents living in Soma – 35 miles away and outside the exclusion zone – said they were terrified. And some believe the government is not being honest about the extent of the danger.

Innkeeper Toshiaki Kiuchi, 63, said: “I don’t think they are telling us the truth. Maybe even they don’t know.” Shinako Tachiya, 70, added: “We are really afraid. You can’t see fallout so we are totally relying on them for our lives.

“I think they are not being open with us. They aren’t telling us anything.”

US authorities said low-level radioactivity was detected at the Yokosuka military base, 200 miles away.

The Foreign Office advised against all non-essential travel to Japan but said there were no plans to evacuate Brits.

More than 500 bone marrow transplant centres across Europe were on standby to treat possible radiation victims.

Japan Quake and Tsunami (Update)

ENGINEERS were last night locked in a desperate race against time to spare Japan from a horrific nuclear disaster.

The fate of millions lay in the hands of workers who have 48 hours to prevent a deadly meltdown at a quake-hit Fukushima One plant.

If they fail, there could be a Chernobyl-style radiation leak that will kill people within days and leave others at risk of cancers and childbirth defects for decades to come.

Experts claim that unless engineers can cool the rods, they will melt in around 48 hours and burn through the heavy casing of the containment building they are housed in.

A predicted change in wind direction today could leave Tokyo residents in any leak’s line of fire.

Nuclear expert Professor John Gittus, who helped with the aftermath of the 1986 Chernobyl disaster in Ukraine, warned the chances of a meltdown were “one in 10”.

He said: “Within a day or two we should find out that things are all right. That is my forecast.

“But there is a chance we shall find ourselves on the way to a core melt.” Prof Gittus, a fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, added: “What happened in Chernobyl is happening in Japan.

“The reactors have been switched off making a nuclear explosion impossible but a core meltdown would spell disaster.

“The amount of heat in the core after it has been switched off is enough to melt a hemisphere of concrete 100 yards in diameter.

“This is the China Syndrome we used to talk about and people thought it would go all the way through the world and come out in Australia. But the reality is it is a finite amount of heat energy called decaying heat.

“I did the analysis of the Chernobyl reactor for the British government. The difference is the Japanese reactor has got two strong containments.

“One is the pressure vessel which is a foot thick made of steel the second is the made of concrete and what has happened so far is both those containments have stopped anything get out. Chernobyl didn’t have either.”

But if there was a full meltdown highly radioactive vapours would swirl out into the atmosphere.

The professor said: “This vapour will be blown around. The expectation would be some dozens of people would receive big radiation doses and would die within days or weeks.

“Much larger number of people hundreds times greater would receive smaller doses and it is not certain what would happen to them. This happened after the Chernobyl accident.

“We can’t really be certain that the thousands of people who receive these smaller doses are going to have their lives shortened. But it is a possibility.

“The expectation is that however small a dose some people would die early as a result of cancers in 10 to 40 years’ time. But that’s not certain. They could be somewhere where it rained and a cloud of radioactive wind happened to be blowing over.”

With the rods melting out of control in three damaged reactors at Fukushima, engineers were pumping seawater into the containers in a bid to stop them overheating and melting.

Officials admitted radiation detected at Fukushima yesterday was twice the maximum seen so far.

The containment building’s designer claimed he told the makers of the plant it was not strong enough to withstand earthquakes. Masashi Goto said his greatest fear is that the blasts may have damaged the steel casing designed to stop radioactive material escaping.

He also painted a dire picture of what would happen if a full meltdown and explosion occur.

Mr Goto said because the reactor uses mixed oxide, the melting point is lower than that of conventional fuel. It would mean plutonium being spread over an area up to twice as far as estimated for a conventional nuclear explosion.

Even if that is averted, experts predict radioactive releases of steam from the crippled plant could still go on for more than a year.

Workers have no option but to periodically vent the reactors as part of the emergency cooling process.

Authorities declared an exclusions around a 12-mile radius of the plant and evacuated 210,000 people.

A senior American official advising the Japanese government said: “Even under the best scenarios, this isn’t going to end soon.”

Japan responded by providing 230,000 units of stable iodine to evacuation centres as a precautionary measure.

As fears of a leak grew, another earthquake with a magnitude of 4.1 hit Tokyo at 8pm UK time last night.

In the Pacific, US aircraft carrier the Ronald Reagan, deployed for relief efforts, moved position after detecting low-level radiation. Officials claimed crew members received a month’s worth of radiation in less than an hour.

Three US helicopters flying missions 60 miles north of the plant became coated with radiation.

Several crew needed decontamination scrubs.

Rescue operations continued all along Japan’s battered northeast yesterday.

Emergency workers found 1,000 bodies in Minami Sanriku and another 1,000 washed up on beaches in Miyagi.

Survivors said food, water and fuel were running critically low in the hardest-hit areas and 2.6 million homes were without electricity. Gas was running low.

Red Cross worker Patrick Fuller in Otsuchi said: “It’s a scene from hell. Almost everything has been flattened.

“The government is saying 9,500 people, more than half of the population here could have died and I fear the worst.”

Japan Red Cross president Tadateru Konoe added: “This is the worst I have ever seen. Otsuchi reminds me of Osaka and Tokyo after the Second World War when everything was destroyed.”

Bae Yong Joon donates $900,000 USD for Japan earthquake victims

Actor Bae Yong Joon recently stood up to donate to those that suffered from Japan’s horrific earthquake that occurred last week.

Having a high status in Japan, ‘Yon-sama’ owes a lot of his popularity from his Japanese fans, and with a gracious heart, he has decided to give away 1,000,000,000 WON, which comes up to approximately $900,000 USD.

Bae Yong Joon’s company, Keyeast, recently stated, “After hearing that Japan had limited relief supplies and equipment, Bae Yong Joon quickly reacted and donated 1,000,000,000WON for emergency support, hoping for a speedier recovery. The money will be given through the Japan Tourism Agency, who will distribute it to organizations involved in the earthquake/tsunami relief effort. Bae Yong Joon is also very worried about the victims who are in shortage of food and basic living supplies so he has decided to provide food, blankets, and other items as well.”

Bae Yong Joon is not the only actor who is donating money to the neighboring country, as Kim Hyun Joong and Jang Geun Suk, who are also receiving much love in Japan, have decided to give away $100,000 and $120,000 respectively. The latter left a message stating, “I hope that the victims can return to their normal life soon.”

Kim Hyun Joong donates money to earthquake victims

Actor and singer Kim Hyun Joong has recently donated 100 million won to the victims of the recent earthquake in Japan.

His agency in Japan, Digital Adventure (DA), asked that the money be used in the afflicted areas, and for victims with the greatest need. Kim Hyun Joong said, “My heart hurts so much to hear about this. I hope that everyone can stay strong.” He also said, “Many people are joining hands in this crisis. Everyone, please come together with one heart.”

Jpan Nuclear Reactor Rods Exposed Raising Risk of Meltdown

The fuel rods in one of Japan's damaged nuclear reactors have been temporarily fully exposed from their coolant, raising the risk of overheating and a meltdown.

A spokesman at the Fukushima plant said today that Unit 2's rods were briefly exposed.

Sea water was being channelled into the reactor to cover the rods again.

Unit 2 of the Fukushima Dai-ichi plant is the latest reactor to lose its ability to cool down.

The other two reactors at the plant are facing a meltdown and authorities are racing to cool them with sea water.

Earlier a second explosion in three days rocked the plant, sending a massive cloud of smoke into the air and injuring 11 workers.

The blast was felt 25 miles away, but the plant's operator said the radiation levels at the affected unit were still within legal limits.

The blast was in Unit 3, which workers have been trying to cool with sea water after a system failure in the wake of the earthquake and tsunami.

Operators knew the sea water flooding would cause a pressure buildup in the reactor containment vessel - and potentially lead to an explosion - but felt they had no choice if they wanted to avoid a complete meltdown. In the end, the hydrogen in the released steam mixed with oxygen in the atmosphere and set off the blast.

The inner containment shell surrounding the Unit 3 reactor was intact, Mr Edano said, allaying some fears of the risk to the environment and public. But the outer building around the reactor appeared to have been devastated, with only a skeletal frame remaining.

Tokyo Electric Power Company, which operates the plant, said radiation at Unit 3 was well under the level where a nuclear operator must file a report to the government.

A similar explosion occurred on Saturday at the plant's Unit 1, injuring four workers, causing mass evacuations and destroying much of the outer building.

Shortly after today's explosion, Tokyo Electric warned it had lost the ability to cool Unit 2. Hours later, the company admitted that the fuel rods had been fully exposed.

It was trying to channel sea water into the reactor to cover the rods, cool them down and prevent another explosion.

More than 180,000 people have evacuated the area in recent days, and up to 160 may have been exposed to radiation - pouring misery onto those already devastated by the twin disasters.

States of emergency have been declared at six Fukushima reactors, where the main cooling systems and backup generators have been knocked out. Three are at Dai-ichi and three at the nearby Fukushima Daini complex.

Most attention, though, has been focused on Dai-ichi units 1 and 3, where operators have been funnelling in sea water in a last-ditch measure to cool the reactors. A complete meltdown - the melting of the radioactive core - could release radioactive contaminants into the environment and pose major, widespread health risks.

Mr Edano said no Fukushima reactor was near that point, and he was confident of escaping the worst scenarios.

International scientists say there are serious dangers but little risk of a Chernobyl-style catastrophe. Chernobyl had no containment shell around the reactor.

"The likelihood there will be a huge fire like at Chernobyl or a major environmental release like at Chernobyl, I think that's basically impossible," said James Stubbins, a nuclear energy professor at the University of Illinois.

And, some analysts noted, the length of time since the nuclear crisis began indicated that the chemical reactions inside the reactor were not moving quickly toward a complete meltdown.

hurm...sakit yg berpanjangan menjadikan aku sedikit sengsara...heheheheh...bkn sengsara ape...tpi aku xleh berckp sbb aku xde suara..hehehehehe...pedih pon ade tekak ni...

pada masa ini...dikala line tgh laju ni aku melakukan bnyk bende termasuklah nak carikan keje kat umi aku...kebelakangan ni die asyik sakit je...so die decided nak stop drive bas skola n nak masuk nurse balik...my father said ok...kitorg pun suka jgk...so bas ni akan dijual la....mcm itu la kiranya...

berbalik nak carikan mak aku keje...aku lak nak wat bisnes je...berbekalkan bakat yg ade...(ade jgk lah dari xde) aku decide nak tlg abah aku...hurm...mudah2an menjadi lah hendaknye ye...

so sape2 yg nak kahwen tu akan jumpe lah muka aku...(cume aku je yg xkahwen2 g...hehhehehe)....

ah...berbalik pada isu post yg lepas..pasal org nak dtg merisik tu...die hntr lah jgk rombongan die tu..aku dgn berbudi bahasanye ckp kat mak die "makcik...klu sy trime cincin ni maknenye sy terpaksa sbb xnak malukan makcik n pakcik" mak die tanpa bnyk soal trus ckp kat aku "maaf nak, anak makcik tu mang degil..siap die bile makcik balik nti"...seram jgk makcik ni aku tgk...hehehehe..ape2 pon, kwn aku ckp teruk die kna bantai kat mak die...pedulikan lah die...yg penting xde org yg nk kacau hidup aku g....

sesuia dgn status sendiri ni...ape2 yg aku wat pon sendiri termasuk lah tanggung sakit ni...pedih wei tekak ni...hukhukhukhuk!!! eh..dah batuk dah...xpe lah..smpi cni je lah kot....

saya dah ok....

hurm...bnyk kerja btul...dah berhari-hari bil tu tertangguh sebab aku sakit...selesai membayar bil, aku pergi membeli brg2 dapur...bdk2 ni semua barang dia nak ambil...mati la aku membayarnya...

pas itu, kitorg g mkn...mkn kfc lak tu...selepas sekian lama sakit..hari ini bru aku rasa selera ku ok...syukur alhamdulillah...hehehehehhe...mkn kfc lak tu....after that kitorg pergi pasar...lepas tu trus pulang ke rumah...kecoh n seronok bdk2 tu dpt jalan ari ni....penat btul jalan dgn bdk2 ni...

smpi je kat rumah bdk2 tu trus nangis...xnak balik katanye....Ya Allah...ape la xpandai penat bdk2 ni....hurm...pakse je msuk rumah...menjerit-jerit xnak masuk...biar je...bagi tgk tv citer ultraman favorite dorg...trus diam nangis....syukur....

so thats it 4 today...ptg ni xde ape lagi kot...aku nak solat zohor dulu...hik3....maybe petang ni kita jumpa lagi....

see u again....

peace...xoxo

big girl's don't cry

Da Da Da

The smell of your skin lingers on me now
Your probably on your flight back to your home town
I need some shelter of my own protection baby
To be with myself instead of calamity
Peace, Serenity

I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to do with you
It's personal, Myself and I
We've got some straightenin' out to do
And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But Ive got to get a move on with my life
Its time to be a big girl now
And big girls don't cry
Don't cry
Don't cry
Don't cry

The path that I'm walking
I must go alone
I must take the baby steps until I'm full grown
Fairytales don't always have a happy ending, do they
And I foresee the dark ahead if I stay

I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to with you
It's personal, Myself and I
We've got some straightenin' out to do
And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I've got to get a move on with my life
Its time to be a big girl now
And big girls don't cry
Like the little school mate in the school yard
We'll play jacks and uno cards
Ill be your best friend and you'll be mine
Valentine
Yes you can hold my hand if u want to
Cause I want to hold yours too
Well be playmates and lovers and share our secret worlds
But its time for me to go home
Its getting late, dark outside
I need to be with myself instead of calamity
Peace, Serenity

I hope you know, I hope you know
That this has nothing to do with you
It's personal, Myself and I
We've got some straightenin' out to do
And I'm gonna miss you like a child misses their blanket
But I've got to get a move on with my life
Its time to be a big girl now
And big girls don't cry
Don't cry
Don't cry
Don't cry
