Arashi set to release live DVD + new album, “Beautiful World”

According to Japanese online music shop Shinseido, popular idol group Arashi will be releasing a new album and DVD this summer.

The new album is titled “Beautiful World” and is set to release on July 6th. The first press will come with a special booklet and an alternate jacket, and according to Shinseido, it will have seven new  songs plus solo songs.

Before the single, they will release a live DVD titled, “ARASHI 10-11 TOUR ‘Scene’ ~Kimi to Boku no Miteiru Fukei~ DOME +“. The concert is recorded from their performance at Fukuoka Yahoo! JAPAN Dome on January 19, 2011.  It will release on June 15th and the first press will have a premium package, page live photobook, and an alternative jacket. The normal edition will include solo interviews and a music video.

Check out Arashi’s new CM for au!

Previously, we reported about a new CM for au (mobile phone brand) featuring Arashi members, and today on May 1st, the new versions started airing.

In the previous CM, all Arashi members appeared in one CM, though it was a combination of individual scenes, but these new versions are featuring each member in one CM.

The song “Boku ga Boku no Subete” is being used in the new versions as well.

Arashi’s Sakurai Sho becomes MC for NTV’s coverage of the royal wedding

Nippon Television Network has chosen Arashi member Sakurai Sho as the main MC for their upcoming royal wedding special, “British Royal Family Prince William and Princess Kate“!

The special will air on April 29th, featuring video footage from the British Broadcasting Channel. Two other MCs – Miyamoto Ryuuji and Nishio Yukari - will accompany Sakurai as he covers the latest updates on this joyous occasion for the royal family.

Previously, we reported that the popular drama “Kaibutsu-kun“, which stars Arashi’s leader, Ohno Satoshi, would be released as a 3D movie (also in 2D), and recently, the release date has been revealed to be November 26th!

“Kaibutsu-kun” was aired as a drama series from April~June in 2010, and this film adaptation will be about Kaibutsu-kun and his fellows getting lost in the “Kingdom of Curry” (some parts of the shoot was held in India.).

Debuted in 1999 by idol and talent agency, Johnny & Associates, Arashi took the J-pop music industry by storm. This five member multi-talented group had their breakthrough in 2005 with the single “Wish” and continued to dominate the weekly Oricon charts with their future singles.

Trailer revealed for Miyazaki Aoi & Sakurai Sho’s upcoming film “Kamisama no Karute”

The official trailer for Miyazaki Aoi and Sakurai Sho’s much anticipated film “Kamisama no Karute” (God’s Medical Chart) has finally been revealed!

The movie is based on Natsukawa Sosuke’s novel of the same title, which sold 300,000 copies and received a second place literary award.

Sakurai plays the doctor, Ichito, and Miyazawa plays his wife, Haruna. The movie is the story of a doctor who puts all his effort on medical support in the countryside.

To prepare for his first role as a doctor, Sakurai met with Natsukawa and also visited a hospital to learn about medical services. Sakurai took the role seriously, even getting a perm since the original character is said to have a mop of hair.

The movie will be released on August 27th, but until then, check out the trailer below!
