On May 23rd, it was revealed that Arashi’s Ohno Satoshi (31) attended an announcement conference for this year’s “24Hour Television 35 ‘Ai wa Chikyuu wo Sukuu’” (to be held on August 25th to the 26th) and announced his collaboration with artist Nara Yoshitomo (52) to create the design for the program’s charity T-shirts.
Regarding this big project, Ohno explained the T-shirt’s design with, “It’s simple. I think it would help build the future from the beginning.” On the back of the shirt, the theme for this year’s 24Hour Television, “Future”, is printed and is characterized by its bold strokes. Ohno, who wrote the character for “Future” in calligraphy, stated, “There was only one piece of paper left and I thought, ‘Let’s finalize it with this piece of paper’ and wrote the characters intuitively. I was happy with the final product. It’s great,” confidently speaking to the audience on the design. In addition, Ohno also revealed that the other members of Arashi also loved the design, gave positive feedback, and “wore it happily”.
